Muuto의 Outline Studio Sofa는 기존 Outline Sofa의 크기를 줄인 제품으로, 좁은 도심 주거 공간에 맞게 제작되었습니다. 미드센추리 가구의 세련되고 깔끔한 선을 참고하면서도, 넉넉한 현대적 크기와 높은 편안함으로 디자인을 현대적으로 재해석했습니다. 얇은 팔걸이와 슬림한 등받이로 좌석 공간을 극대화하여 두 사람이 편안하게 앉을 수 있습니다.
시각적으로 가볍고 우아한 Outline은 방 한가운데에 두어도, 벽에 붙여 두어도 조화롭게 어울립니다. 눈에 띄지 않는 다리는 하단 모서리 안쪽으로 들어가 있어 소파가 떠 있는 듯, 거의 무게감이 느껴지지 않는 외관을 연출하며, 인테리어 공간을 압도하기보다는 자연스럽게 돋보이게 합니다. 내부는 합판과 스틸로 제작되었습니다. 선택한 패브릭이나 가죽을 씌우기 전에 폼과 깃털로 충전재를 채웁니다. 모든 쿠션은 수작업으로 바느질하고 오리 깃털과 알갱이형 콜드 폼을 혼합하여 채웁니다.
Outline 소파를 디자인한 Andersson & Voll은 다음과 같이 설명합니다. “Outline을 통해 우리는 시각적으로 가볍고 우아하면서도 편안함이 가득한 소파를 만들고자 했습니다. 모더니즘 건축에서 영감을 주는 본질적이고 시적인 특성들을 디자인에 담아내고 싶었습니다. 소파 디자인에서 몇몇 요소들이 병치되는 방식은 주택의 구조에서 차용했습니다. 서로 다른 면들이 겹쳐지며 소파의 표현에 가벼움을 더합니다. 이것이 Outline이 특유의 차분하고 평온한 분위기를 지닌 이유입니다. 넉넉한 좌석에서 뛰어난 편안함을 제공하면서도 슬림한 외관과 강렬한 건축적 존재감을 지니고 있습니다.”
