Created by Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker, the HAY Chisel collection has now expanded to include dining chairs, stools, bar stools and dining tables, creating a timeless family of wooden furniture with a distinctly contemporary look. Named after the classic carpentry tool, Chisel was created from a desire to design solid wooden furniture with a distinctive silhouette that would stand the test of time.
Crafted in oak veneer with oak end sections, the table features a circular tabletop supported by a central column with characteristically bevelled edges, subtly referencing the carpentry tool behind its name. The solid oak base features a steel counterweight for greater stability, with an anti-slip underside helping to keep the table securely in place. The central column allows for more flexibility when positioning chairs around the table, while providing generous legroom.
Designed with careful consideration for craftsmanship and structure, the table balances a distinctive silhouette with a clean, understated expression. Available in different wood finishes and sizes, the table’s adaptable design makes it suitable for a range of domestic and public settings, from dining areas and kitchens to cafés and meeting spaces.
