Created by British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, the Bellhop Portable Lamp was originally produced for the restaurant of London's Design Museum. Described by its designers as a modern-day candle, it provides a warm, ambient glow while maintaining a simple and refined silhouette. The Bellhop balances a simple, refined form with versatile everyday functionality.
Now updated for 2026 Bellhop 2.0 is crafted from lightweight, injection-moulded polycarbonate, and features an integrated LED light source which provides glare-free illumination with adjustable brightness. With a push-button switch on the base, it offers 4-step dimming, 3-step colour temperature selection and a battery status indicator. Portable, rechargeable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the lamp can be easily moved between spaces to provide ambient lighting wherever it is needed.
Rechargeable via the supplied USB-C cable, the lamp provides up to 24 hours of use. Available in a range of colours, it works well in a variety of settings, from bedside tables and desks to dining spaces and outdoor areas.
