Vitra's Plate Coffee Tables are characterised by an unassuming, classic shape and finely balanced proportions. The dimensions of the Plate Coffee Tables are coordinated so that several tables can be grouped together to form a large surface area or to create diverse arrangements. This flexibility offers ideal solutions in regard to both size and shape for the requirements of different interiors or for unusual sofa configurations.

The legs with a quarter-circle profile and the slender frame adhere to Jasper Morison's principle of efficient use of materials: as much as necessary, as little as possible. Despite the minimum use of materials, the table's sturdy structure ensures its stability whilst offering a compact modern look. This lends the table a refined, graceful silhouette. Constructed from a sturdy powder-coated die-cast aluminium base with a tabletop in a choice of solid oak or marble finishes, the Plate Coffee Table is a robust yet timeless piece of furniture.

    Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison is one of Britain’s most successful and well-renowned industrial designers. He is best known for a design approach that makes hard-working products appear aesthetically quiet. Together with his colleague Naoto Fukasawa, he coined the term 'super normal’ - it means a good example of understated, useful and responsible design. Born in London in 1959, Jasper received his bachelor of design degree from Kingston School of Art in 1982, and his master's degree in design from the Royal College of Art in 1985. In 1984 he received a Berlin scholarship to study in Germany at the Hochschule der Künste. Morrison opened his...
