Created by Ronan Bouroullec for HAY, Palissade was developed through research into outdoor furniture typologies. The collection balances visual lightness with structural strength, combining archetypal references and simplicity of form to create a refined and enduring outdoor series. The cantilevered frame introduces a gentle, responsive sit that enhances comfort without compromising stability. The integrated armrests provide additional support, encouraging a more relaxed seating posture over time.
Carefully considered angles and generous proportions create a stable and well-balanced form. The durable steel construction is available in a range of finishes, including hot galvanised steel for enhanced weather resistance. Palissade Cantilever is intended to be used over a long period of time and become more beautiful through the years. The collection is suitable for a wide range of settings, from cafés and restaurants to gardens, terraces and balconies.
The armchair can be paired with a range of cushion options, the Palissade Seat Cushion for the seat only, or the Soft Quilted Seat Cushion and Quilted Cushion for full back and seat coverage.
