Noboru is the new stepladder from Fritz Hansen, designed by the Canadian duo MSDS Studio, consisting of Jonathan Sabine and Jessica Nakanishi. Noboru takes inspiration from the American Shaker movement and their belief in simplicity, efficiency and the value of work. This is particularly evident in their use of high quality materials, the solid oak is elegant but discrete.
Noboru means 'to climb' in Japanese and is a stepladder where the lower step can slide in, taking up less space and turning the stepladder into a stool or side table. Under the level a short handle is milled, so you can easily pull it out and push it back in.
