The Kaari is Artek's first collaboration with French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. It boasts a light, fluid design, seemingly crafted from a single pen stroke. "Kaari" translates to "arch" in Finnish, reflecting its structural elegance. The interplay between the solid horizontal boards and the vertical metal bands gives the side panels and shelves a surprisingly light appearance, resulting in a distinctive linear silhouette.
The wall-mounted shelves, complete with a desk, offers a compact home office unit. Combining natural solid oak wall brackets, with the simple bent steel band that characterises the Kaari Collection, the shelves stand out with their glossy black HPL surface. Meanwhile, the desk is finished in black linoleum for a comfortable working surface. Available in two options, 1 or 2 columns, the design provides ample room for co-working or to spread out papers, plans, and files. The shelves and desk surface of the REB 010 (2 Columns) come as continuous pieces.

There are few, if any, designers as well renowned and respected as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec - often known simply as the Bouroullec Brothers. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.
The design duo started their practice as joint partners in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for offering a new perspective on materiality and purpose.
