The Kaari is Artek's first collaboration with French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. It boasts a light, fluid design, seemingly crafted from a single pen stroke. "Kaari" translates to "arch" in Finnish, reflecting its structural elegance. The interplay between the solid horizontal boards and the vertical metal bands gives the side panels and shelves a surprisingly light appearance, resulting in a distinctive linear silhouette.

This shelf unit combines natural solid oak wall brackets with the simple bent steel band characteristic of the Kaari Collection. The shelves feature a glossy black melamine surface with an ABS edge. Available in two options, wide or narrow, it provides ample room for storage and is adaptable to a wide range of requirements. The shelf surface of the REB 008 (Wide) comes as one continuous piece.

The Kaari Wall Shelf is also available as a shelf with a desk option.

    Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

There are few, if any, designers as well renowned and respected as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec - often known simply as the Bouroullec Brothers. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.

The design duo started their practice as joint partners in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for offering a new perspective on materiality and purpose. Since then they have worked with some of the world’s most illustrious design brands, creating products which are already considered to be future classics. Their work ranges from small utilitarian objects to architectural projects. In...
