Originally designed by Finnish Architect Alvar Aalto in 1933 for Artek, the Aalto Table is a minimal and iconic Scandinavian design. Alvar Aalto was granted a patent for the method of bending wood in 1933. Aalto's invention of the 'L-leg' has made his table series famous. The structural L-bend legs are mounted directly to the underside of the table without the need for complicated connecting elements.

Made from high-quality natural birch from Finland and finished with a top surface of birch, linoleum or high-pressure laminate; the Aalto Table Rectangular is one of the most timeless design icons from the 1930s. The linoleum tabletop is ideal for writing, while the easy-to-clean laminate provides a slightly more robust option, the natural birch is arguably the most alluring. With Aalto's signature L-legs and edge bands of Finnish birch, the table provides natural beauty and warmth, adapting easily between public and private environments in accordance with Alvar Aalto's conception of versatile furniture.

Thanks to natural materials, the surface will age gracefully over time and last across generations. The refined silhouette of the table will suit any interior space from dining to working. The table is available in various dimensions and also comes as a round, square, and half-round table.

    Worth the wait

After a 12-week wait, I finally received my Aalto Table 81A, and I can confidently say it was worth the anticipation. The craftsmanship is absolutely stunning, with the same attention to detail that made Alvar Aalto's designs iconic. The natural birch wood is smooth to the touch, and the curved edges add a subtle elegance to the overall look.

Despite the wait, the table arrived in perfect condition, and the quality of the materials is outstanding. It's solid yet retains a lightness that makes it easy to move around the room when needed. The wait was long, but the result is a timeless, high-quality piece that I'll treasure for years to come. Highly recommended for those who appreciate superior craftsmanship and design.
