Originally designed by Finnish Architect Alvar Aalto in 1933 for Artek, the Aalto Table is a minimal and iconic Scandinavian design. Alvar Aalto was granted a patent for the method of bending wood in 1933. Aalto's invention of the 'L-leg' has made his table series famous. The structural L-bend legs are mounted directly to the underside of the table without the need for complicated connecting elements.

The Aalto Table Half-Round is an ingenious inclusion in the series with such inherent versatility. It can be a standalone table for two in a small kitchen, a hallway console or a compact home office desk for one, but it doesn't end there: Pair two together for a round table or add it to a 120cm or 150cm long Aalto Table Rectangular table to create a supersized dining table.

Made from high-quality natural birch from Finland and finished with a top surface of birch, linoleum or high-pressure laminate; the Aalto Table Half-Round is one of the most timeless design icons from the 1930s. The linoleum tabletop is ideal for writing, while the easy-to-clean laminate provides a slightly more robust option, the natural birch is arguably the most alluring. With Aalto's signature L-legs and edge bands of Finnish birch, the table provides natural beauty and warmth, adapting easily between public and private environments in accordance with Alvar Aalto's conception of versatile furniture.
